One-on-One
All three do a good job getting their message out, but Layton clearly made the best choice in terms of format. Viewers get to see the energy of the campaign trail, and his interview comes across as a quasi NDP infomercial at times.

Folks, what more evidence do you need that Calgary Grit is really a yellow commie -- every chance he gets, Calgary Grit makes Jack Layton look like Canada's Obama.
Well I have news for Calgary Grit:
Canada already has an Obama and his name is Michael Ignatieff. When Michael Ignatieff becomes PM (not via election, I grant you, but via parliamentary chicanery), he will rescue Canada from the right-wing nightmare that we have been living for the past five years.
Michael Ignatieff will bring peace to the middle east, he will stabilize the planet's temparature and will divert astoroids from colliding with our planet by radiating positive energy.
And Calgary Grit will be crying in Libby Davies ample busom like the NDP-supporting loser he is.
Viva Ignatieff!

An appeal to all fair-minded Canadians --- Folks, call me paranoid, but I think there's A LOT more to the Coup/Coalition than meets the eye. And it's not good. For those interested in stopping the hijacking of OUR democracy, please give a gander at: "The Real Co-Conspirators Behind the Coup":

and tell me if I'm wrong. Please.
This isn't a CPC vs LPC vs NDP supporter issue. It transends that.

Wow CG. Your blog is being hit by a lot of spam these days.
By Gayle, at 1:55 p.m.
Did anyone ask Iggy what he would do if Layton became leader of the Opposition?
By JimTan, at 3:52 p.m.
Who needs attack ads when you have Liberal supporters to do it to themselves? United front people. A look at what's working for the opponents isn't a bad thing.
What I see CG pointing out to the ire of surprisingly so many, is the Liberals need to pull up their socks when it comes to messaging. Emotion will rule over logic any and every day. It's how the brain works.
The Liberals can't just sit back and say "we have a vision and a plan so vote for us". They have to connect emotionally. Who the heck picked the studio for MI's interview. I think MI does it very well in the town halls but who's out there carrying the message on after that?
Instead of spending time here bashing CG, get out and connect.

Yeah I always figured that those "orange red traitor" posts were tongue in cheek but maybe not! Nuts
By Marc from soccer, at 4:41 p.m.
I am out there connecting. I am pounding the pavement for Ignatieff. I am talking Ignatieff up in my community, on the bus, at work, in the coffee shop, at church, at the corner store, to my accountant as he finishes my taxes, at the pool, in the garden centre. Everywhere.
And what I see when I get on-line is a bunch of Liberals cheering for yellow-belly Layton. Not just Calgary Grit, but all of you Liberals who are supporting the Calgary Grit.
Shame on you all. Shame on the Governor General. Shame on Peter Mansbridge. Shame on any Canadian who doesn't vote Liberal.

"Shame on any Canadian who doesn't vote Liberal."
Liberal entitlement in a nutshell.

funny to see people believe the anon poster is for real
heh heh heh heh
By Joseph Kerr, at 6:01 p.m.
I am as real as the bugs crawling through Thomas Mulcair's underwear, Joseph Kerr.
You can join your friends over in Camp Commie and desert Michael Ignatieff in his hour of need, but count me out!
If Ignatieff told me to jump off a bridge, I'd ask, "how high do you want me to jump, sir?"
And when he'd answer, "well, it doesn't really matter how high you jump so long as you jump," I would nod in awe of his wisdom and then hurtle myself to the water below. Water that, when striking from that height, would have the surface tension of concrete.
That's how real my devotion for Michael Ignatieff is.
By People for a Commie-Free Left-Wing, at 6:48 p.m.
I think people are confusing CG with a partisan Liberal.
He's not a partisan. He's a Liberal. But he won't defend the Liberals when they're wrong. He won't attack the other parties when they're right.
And that's one of the key reasons we like him.
By Robert Vollman, at 8:13 p.m.
I'm pretty sure the anon guy is tongue in cheek. But if he is real, I was out door knocking for the Liberals in an NDP riding today, so that should make him feel better.
By calgarygrit, at 8:15 p.m.
@JimTan, "Did anyone ask Iggy what he would do if Layton became leader of the Opposition?"
Ignatieff seems to figure that he can take over after losing to Harper, but Layton would be wrong to try to take over if the NDP has fewer seats than the Liberals! He (Iggy) has said that Layton is not fit to govern.
NB: captcha: "trust". As in, I don't trust Ignatieff at all.

"But if he is real..."
Not just any kind of Dipper, Calgary Grit is a sexist dipper who assumes I am a man.
Shame on you. Michael Ignatieff never assumes anything - when I met him, I could tell he didn't know if I was a man or woman. And you know what? He didn't care. He loved me for being a Canadian. And I loved him back. Not in any weird way owing to the weird feelings I may or may not have about my identity.
No, I loved him for accepting me as a Canadian regardless of my sexual identity.
Too bad certain "Liberals" on this site can't be so accepting.
By Liberals for a Gender Free Canada, at 10:16 p.m.
Wow, I just want to sincerely thank all of you who have a real conception of the principles Michael Ignatieff stands for.
It has been a hard few days.
The massive headlines on a NDP surge based on a sample of 1000 people??!! The only good part of that is the NDP are getting some Conservative attention.
Canada is really strange right now, almost subversive type tactics.
My Liberal lawn sign is gone now, many times I try to view a Liberal website there are "technical difficulties"
It amazes me that people are blind to the psychopathic tyrant who believes he has the right to take away our democratic rights.
I absolutely refuse to give up this election.
The fact that the RCMP cannot even investigate the crimes of the Harper government and the G8/G20 is unbelievable.
Wake up Canada please.
