And the winner, with 53.2% of the vote, is...

Peter Lougheed. In a photo finish, Alberta's first PC Premier has been crowned as Canada's best Premier, defeating Ontario's Premier for much of the 19th Century, Oliver Mowat.
Lougheed won a wild battle with Tommy Douglas in the first round, before knocking off Ed Schreyer and Ernest Manning, en route to his final fight with Oliver Mowat.

Mowatt managed a very impressive showing, especially given that he lost the initial provincial contest.

Close indeed, between two worthy contenders.
I wish Lougheed had had a shot at PM. Ah well, we push onwards.
Terrific contest, man.

My congrats to Mr. Lougheed. As he is alive in kicking, perhaps you should fire a note to his office to let him know of the honour!
Though not my first choice, I did vote for him in every match he appeared, so I am not unhappy to see him as the victor.
