Hangin' Up The Keyboard
So it's a shame to see him calling his blogging career quits. Hopefully he'll be back one day.

Chernyuk will be back when the Liberal leadership race begins. Which, according to the Star today, is tomorrow.
By Robert McClelland, at 8:39 a.m.
I stopped reading Cherniak a couple of years ago, when it became clear to me that he was forgoing rationality in favour of partisanship. I'll feel loss less strongly than some, I suppose. :)

Jason who?
By Anonymous, at 9:54 a.m.
I think he's too delusional too be readable or effective. This became clear to me when he called the Liberals a grassroots party.
If he were an American conservative he'd be ranting about ACORN and Ayers on the corner.
By Anonymous, at 10:20 a.m.
He's a narcissist who won't be missed by anyone who actually has a clue about politics in this country.
By Anonymous, at 10:55 a.m.
Mr. Cherniak's reprehensible attacks against Jack Layton (trying to portray him as a 9/11 denier) were typical of the dirty politics he practiced. There is nothing admirable in trying to invent, craft and advance complete falsehoods in an attempt to denigrate someone's character for your own political gain.
I am sure many right wing Liberals will share your sentiment towards Mr. Cherniak. In reality, the vast majority of the progressive blogosphere will truly hope that the door does not hit him in the ass as he exists our awareness.
By leftdog, at 11:23 a.m.
A Liberal attacking the Naderite party that gleefully helped deliver Canada to a pack of neoconservatives?
Horrors.
Cherniak was loathed by partisans of other parties. That isn't a bad thing. Being their buddy wasn't his job. His job was to advocate for the party he loved, and I'll grant that he did that as energetically as any Democratic partisan.
That's something the Liberals desperately need when so many Liberal bloggers are playing at neutrality in the face of their party's near-term annihilation and the dominance of Conservative bloggers and commentators online (with a smattering of NDPers.)
It's a shame he left, and I hope he reconsiders.
By Demosthenes, at 11:35 a.m.
How truly 'Cherniesque' of you to STILL be blaming the demise of the incompetent Liberal Party of Canada on New Democrats!
There is room on Cherniak's bus for you as well, I am sure!
By leftdog, at 11:42 a.m.
I liked Cherniak - whenever I needed a fawning account of Liberals or Dion, with complete disregard for reality, I would check in on Cherniak.
I attempted to post a few comments on his blog, but I committed the unpardonable sin of questioning Liberal dogma. My comments were never posted.

Cherniak fawned over Warren, and ended up with nothing.
Cherniak fawned over Dion, and ended up with nothing.
Cherniak censured commentary like no one else (even Conservative fanatics do not censure the way Cherniak did/will in the future).
Cherniak reminds me of the egghead who gets into law school.
Cherniak reminds me of the lawyer who thinks he knows everything because he graduated from law school.
Cherniak needs to MATURE UP.
Cherniak needs to make some money and hire someone to set him straight (and Cherniak needs to listen to them).
Cherniak has passion.
Cherniak has enthusiasm.
Cherniak has commitment.
Cherniak will, some day, be a good Liberal MP!
By Anonymous, at 1:01 p.m.
Cherniak was great for a laugh, but not in the way he wanted to be.
By Anonymous, at 1:14 p.m.
It seems Cherniak took pains to go through all of his comments to weed out anything that may have even been slightly critical. It was very bizarre, like he was trying to create an echo chamber.
I tried to post a comment there once. It was a legitimate non-offensive comment seeking some understanding on how a cap and trade system was anything other than buying permission to keep on polluting. But it did not agree with the Leader's opinion so it was not posted.
I found his website to be very sycophantic.
By Anonymous, at 1:19 p.m.
people only read his blog to get a laugh. now we'll all need to find a new daily-joke place.
By Anonymous, at 4:45 p.m.
Thanks so much for this post, really helpful material.
