Halloween Fun

I'm not sure how to directly link to the video, but I must say Stephen Harper did a good job on the Mercer Report tonight. The return of "the handshake" was, dare I say it, more laugh out loud funny than even Bob Rae's skinny dipping and it's sure to cause fewer nightmares.

  • It was super funny...I found myself having these warm feelings toward him...and thinking wait a minute I hate this guy.

  • Yea Stephen Harper is so scary. Boooooooo whoooooo. As you can see, he's just a normal guy doing a non-normal job.

  • Actually, I thought Harper looked a little stiff compared to other politicos who have been on the show. I mean, that hug was hardly a hug, though it sure did get a guffaw out of me! As did the dog food. And the hard-hitting rant was amazing!

  • For a supposed stiff Harper did well. His intelligence, ability, and street sense is underestimated by most Liberals.

Unfortunately, Harper sees Canadian issues from a different perspective than most Canadians - thus the 35% polls/election results.

Because of this different perspective, it is critical that Liberals unite behind a candidate who also has intelligence, ability, and street sense, and can unite most of the remaining 65%.

  • Actually, the last 11 months have led me to think of Harper as a pretty normal, cool, sometimes fun guy - this turned out pretty much as I expected. The best part to me was reading the Accountablity Act at bedtime (though I would have written him reading it to the kids, but hey, that's just me).

It was funny stuff all around.

  • Although I was disappointed we didn't see any kittens.

  • I like kittens!

Awesome link, I laughed as much as anyone else.

  • The Peter MacKay dog food bit was also very funny.

  • If you've seen Harper do his bit at the Press Gallery Dinners, he's clearly got the best sense of humour and impecable timing.

Not, I wager, to Rick Mercer himself.

  • I can't believe this! The only time I miss his show, and that's the one he gets a hug from Stephen Harper!
