Call the Gym

And see if you can buy a 2015 membership. Because that's when Stephen Harper is promising you a tax credit for it.

Until then, grab another beer.

  • So karate chop background for today, but fitness four years from now. Harper must secretly be an Iggy fan because he's doing everything possible to gift him the election.

  • Does it bother anyone that gym memberships and credit cards are apparently issues considered most worthy of Ottawa's attention?

Tell you what, when you balance the books and help create economic conditions favourable to investment and employment THEN you can pay for some kid's piano lessons, ok?

    Kind of, yes...

  • The message these benefits of the future deliver is that the Conservatives are being careful with the treasury, only moving when the conditions make that benefit affordable. Contrast that with the Liberal red-shift that seams incredulusly designed to poach votes from the NDP and leave their right flank exposed.

Voters will go to the polls against a back-drop global fiscal mismanagement deciding between old-fashioned Liberal tax-and-spend entitlement programs versus the fiscal prudence of the Tories.

And in a week of apparent sub-par performance by Harper on the the campaign trail, the recent tracking polls perhaps indicate the electorate is already doing that calculus.

  • "fiscal prudence of the Tories"? You're talking about the same guys who made a 50 billion deficit, right?

  • The same guys who made a $50 billion deficit, supported by all other parties.

I'm waiting for support for left-handed philatelists. What we need is a more complicated tax code.
