Abstinence Only Voting

TODAY:

The House of Commons voted 144-117 today against a Liberal motion to bring down the minority Conservatives.

The Liberals and Bloc Quebecois supported the motion while the Tories opposed it and the NDP abstained.

  • The NDP of my grandmother's generation is dead. To think, all those years that she donated because they were the party that would stand up for the right things; Jack has finished the slow destruction of the Tommy Douglas values of the NDP. Sorry Khadr, you'll have to stay in prison a little while longer, Jack does not want to risk losing seats.

  • Anonymous: is that so? The NDP just won the biggest political battle of the decade thanks to this minority setup, are doing a lot of the actual work to help canadian families. Is the compromise perfect? no. Could it be a better deal? probably. But the conservatives are known to be hardliners, and to think that we got this victory out of another week of conservative rule -- priceless.
