As somebody [erroneously] classified as Asian American in my university's files, I am offended by the Taro Aso pick. Its like they just went with the first Asian actor that came to mind (incidentally the guy they picked DOES kind of resemble Koizumi).
Here is how I would cast some random politicians (solely based on resemblance):
Michael Ignatieff: Jeremy Irons is a "dead ringer" for Iggy... I wonder if they are also secretly gynecologists (I will be amazed if anybody gets that reference).
Stephen Harper: Baldwin's face is too long for him to pull off Harper. However I can't think of anybody distinctly better...

Stephane Dion: Woody Allen
Dalton McGuinty: Spenny from Kenny vs. Spenny... or David Schwimmer.
John Baird: Perez Hilton (not because Baird is, as far as I know gay, they have similar faces). Alternately, the guy who played Londo's number two on Babylon 5, and Flounder in Animal House, Stephen Furst (at his b5 weight).
Don Newman: William Shatner
Christopher Hitchens: Roger Allam
Al Gore (younger): Gary Sinise
Henry Waxman: it would require CGI or prosthetics to make somebody look like Henry Waxman
