This Year in Saskatchewan
So who is Ryan Bater?
Well, the Sask Libs have released a very impressive video introducing Bater to voters. Doing this sort of thing is essential when you're an unknown leading a third place party. But it's still something every leader should put out after winning a leadership race, be they a provincial or federal leader, in power or on the political fringes. It's a good way to introduce a leader to voters and, at the very least, you'll be able to re-use the footage from it for years.
In addition to officially naming Bater as their leader, the grits voted to formally split the provincial and federal Liberal parties. The party is also promising to privatize liquor stores - although I'm generally not a huge proponent of privatization, at least you can buy beer after 5 on a Sunday in Alberta...so there are definitely benefits to going that route.

I can buy beer after 5 in Halifax... just not at the NSLC. And, frankly, I'm not clear on how more access to alcohol is an instrinsic good.

How do you call yourself the free enterprise party and then admit you may not be willing to be for selling Crown Corporations in Saskatchewan? Sounds more like the Saskatchewan party then anything else.
Though Bater keeps mentioning people are leaving the province. Somebody may want to mention to him that people are moving to Saskatchewan and he may want to talk about issues currently or potentially facing the provinces not issues occuring months in the past.

Man, if only Dion had had someone with those sort of video skills during the coalition craziness.

Because I have a puerile mind, I think he should quit his job in charge of the SLP and become a school Headmaster.

In Indiana I can buy alcohol 24 hours a day (from the supermarket), except on Sundays. Most items cost half what they do in Ontario (I hate the LBCO).
