Vote Out Anders...part 80

There's an article in the Globe today on the pride of Calgary West, Mr. Anders. I can't find the online version, but here's the key quote:

While attending Queen Elizabeth High School in Calgary, he participated in a model parliament leading a party dubbed Septa Sparta to victory. According to the school's 1989-90 yearbook: "Septa Sparta won a right-wing majority, then began the Fourth Reich!"
They've also got all the other great Anders moments, such as his paid heckling for the Republican party and the Mandela comments. Tragically, there was no reference to "homosexual sex marriage".

  • That's actually really old news...I remember seeing that when I was working in the PC Party war room during the 2000 election. Yet, somehow, he always manages to win...

  • It is disturing that he keeps winning. It doesn't say much about the voters in Calgary West.

  • Doesn't say much about voters that support Liberal views either. The Liberals don't have the moral authority to govern. They lied and stealed from the people of Canada and told people they are entitled to their entitlements.

Yet, people still want to vote Liberal. Who are the real dumb voters?

  • Well, I'd have to say that supporting the Nazi Party is far, far worse than keeping bad books...so, I don't know, I'd say the people who vote for the Nazi?

  • If I were an intelligent Conservative living in Calgary West, I would totally stay home on Election Day. What a choice--between policies you don't care for and a guy who's going to embarrass your party and be way, way more trouble than he's worth.

  • That's a nasty and stupid thing for the yearbook to say. But does it prove anything about Anders? Maybe the yearbook editors didn't like him.

  • Wasn't this a comment from a high school yearbook? Isn't it pretty common for many in high schools and universities to smear anyone right of centre as being a Nazi? And isn't calling one's high school model parliament party the fourth reich almost exactly the kind of response one might expect a high school student to make in jest after having been smeared constantly by leftie classmates as being a Nazi? Just sayin'...

  • I just moved out of his riding...look at the green vote in his riding in 2004 and you will know where conservatives with no use for Anders parked their votes...that been said, full credit has to be given to Anders for a very strong organization on the ground.

  • There was a bit on the Calgary Global News about how Rob Anders is absent from his riding, he is supposedly campaigning in BC somewhere. The reporter called up the campaign manager of the guy he was supposedly campaigning for and she didn't know anything about it.
Rick Mercer had a good post about the under belly of the Conservative party.

  • Typical right-wingers - get them elected, they become totally unaccountable and engage in criminal actions. Look no farther than Devine, Filmon, Harris and others. Just get that shrill Cheryl Gallant on the governing side of the House, then watch her mouth get tied. Seems Harper shut Anders up during the last election, correct?

Oh, and BTW, Fighting for Democracy: the past tense of "steal" is stolen. Just shows the literacy levels of the right from King Ralph's Alberta.

Ahhh. I was wondering why, say, someone sane hasn't tried to contest the CPC nomination in the riding...
