They Misunderestimate Him

Paul Jackson writes an ode to Rob Anders in today's Sun which is something else. In it, he recounts his hard hitting interview with Anders which starts with something along the lines of "tell me why you're the greatest MP in your riding's history". Rob and Paul then go on to discuss why Liberalism is to blame for the collapse of all civilizations, including the Roman Empire. And he works a shot at Jimmy Carter in too, for good fun.

  • CG,

I find it weird that two left-wingers (you and Buckdog) were reading today's Calgary Sun, when even I won't touch the thing. Why you wanna hurt yourself?

  • Is the same Paul Jackson who - oh, never mind, there's just too many stories to go into.

Ugh, would someone please do the world a favour and get photos of Rob Anders fucking Lassie? Or Mark Foley? Or Tie Domi and Belinda Stronach? Please?

  • RA is smarter than a tic tac, a thumbtack, a walnut, Paul Jackson, half a grape. he is smarter than all that shxt put together.

  • oh crap, now i owe an apology to the walnut and grape producers.

  • once upon the time i had the pleasure of working around Rob Anders. He's actually a great guy, to talk about cheese and crackers.

Of course we did talk about slightly more interesting stuff than soft cheese. He relished the opportunity to defend his Nelson Mandela stand (…he works 1917 Russia into his argument as apparently Nelson is a Bolshevik) and he was quick to argue against the follies of the 2000 election campaign (his assessment of the Alliance campaign was spot on).

But that’s as close I can get about saying nice things about the man…

  • For all of his views, Rob Anders is probably one of the brightest Conservative politicians in Ottawa.

If they wanted to win elections, they want someone as smart and ruthless as him in charge.

Happily, they consign him to the back benches.

  • *Beats head repeatedly against wall*

Being able to memorize massive amount of information doesn't imply intellgence - merely memory.

This is the man who denied Nelson Mandela Canadian citizenship. I'd merely point out, we are all entitled to our own opinions; we are not entitled to our own facts.

  • Rob Anders, Paul Jackson. Once you hear those two names why would you even read the article.

Clearly those two were made for each other.

The nomination was a joke. This doesn't even begin to compensate for the party abandoning Calgary West.

  • I would not shake hands with Joe Volpe.

  • Rob Anders is a complete idiot. He is not only an embarassment to the few moderate Conservatives left, but also to Calgarians and Albertans in general. People like him unfairly give Calgary and Alberta a bad reputation is being a place full of rednecks, which I know is totally false. Since there is little chance of him losing his seat next general election, hopefully someone at least a bit more moderate can defeat him in his nomination, although I believe that has passed. In fact idiots like him Jason Kenney and Myron Thompson is mainly why I as a former Progressive Conservative choose the Liberals instead of the new Conservatives, since even though I am not keen on some of the more left leaning Liberals, I can at least tolerate them more than the right wing wackos in the Tories.
