Political Games

Sent out by the NDP on Tuesday. I'm sure President Obama will be eternally grateful for Jack's "help"...

Dear Friend,

Today, Jack Layton flies to Washington D.C. to help President Obama in his fight for universal health care. And to fight to protect our cherished Medicare back here in Canada.

It’s an important few days, and I want you to share every step.

I’m inviting you to follow along on twitter as Jack delivers his speech on our fight for Medicare at the Woodrow Wilson Center. And as we meet with key Obama Democrats - like White House Director of Communications Anita Dunn.

Click here to follow Jack Layton on twitter.

And I’m also down in Washington to meet with key senior Democrats about how they waged a winning campaign for change that put everyday people first, ahead of the big corporate interests – just like we want to do in Canada.

You can follow me on twitter by clicking here.

While the other parties are staring each other down, playing political games, this is what your New Democrats are up to. Fighting day in and day out to get real results for real people [ed note: in the United States...] . Thanks for being a part of it.

National Director

  • The NDP's use of "real results for real people" has run it's course and is no longer valid

  • Jack Layton, working for Canadians? Ah, shouldn't he be in Canada working for "Canadians" instead of in the US working for Americans?

He's just trying to make like he and Obama are the same. He said on CTV, Tom Clark, last night that he and Obama think the same.

Layton looks like the fool he is.

  • This is embarrassing.

  • Why won't he just resign already??? What's the point of having an NDP if they can't dredge up any real leadership material -- come on sadsacks, it's been like 2 decades. Put up or shut up.

I'd recommend they just roll into the Liberals, but I'm not sure I hate the Liberals enough to wish that upon them, and I can't imagine the LPC would be any too eager to take in such a wasteland of idiots.

  • Ya, and Layton toot, tooting Tommy Douglas - like the US knows or cares who Tommy Douglas was and if they did find out there would be panic in the streets - Americans hate socialists.

    Layton is so embarrassing.

    Layton: One day.
    Ignatieff: 34 years.

  • Layton is a greasy prick and I will not return to the fold until he's gone.

  • Don't do it, Obama.

If you're going to implement a universal-access health care system, model it after places like France, or Australia, or Sweden. They all have universal access, without the deplorable wait times that plague us here in Canada.

    You can do better!

  • Maybe he can use the example of his hernia operation to promote the efficiencies of the Canadian Health care System.
