Harper Loses a Cabmin...

...but does Canada gain a blogger?

Veteran MP Monte Solberg, a Conservative who came to Ottawa in 1993 with the first big wave of Reform MPs, is retiring from politics, the Tory party announced today.

  • Monte won't pick it up again, unless the Conservatives lose the next election soundly. Then he'll tell us how it wasn't his fault, and it was all Harper's doing.

  • Medicine Hat is ripe for the picking now!

  • Wow, didn't see that coming at all. He seemed cool, I wished he'd had a more prominent cabinet position. I hope he does return at some point.

  • Monte was alright, I lived in Med Hat for a few years and met him a couple of times. He won't go back to blogging I don't believe (strictly opinion, not based on any inside info). I am surprised he's quitting, likely just a career change though, I wouldn't read too much into it.

  • Lost of faith in the New Government?

  • Basically there is no room for talented individuals in the Harper government. That's why the few good ones are jumping ship, while the others hang on in hopes of some day becoming powerless ministers.

Shouldn't that send a message to Canadians?
