Polls

If you're just looking for some quick junkfood, the latest Ipsos poll has the Liberals up 20 in Alberta. Given the sample size, I wouldn't put any stock in it, but I couldn't resist posting it - seeing a Liberal surge in Alberta the second I leave was too funny to pass up.

Now, if you want a nice and healthy full course meal, take a look at the post-Paille government commissioned polling on the Fall Fiscal Update. It gives a detailed look at the issues Canadians are concerned about and how they think Canada's New Government is performing on them. Kudos to Kady O'Malley for digging it up.

  • I wouldn't put too much stock into either. The Decima poll which put the Tories 7 points ahead and the Ipsos one which put the Liberals two points ahead, interestingly enough had almost identical results in Ontario and Quebec, where the sample is large enough to reasonably accurate.

I would be overjoyed if the Liberals did this well in Alberta, but I cannot see it happening for some time.

  • While I wouldn't jump on the results, I would point out that Stelmach is likely a cause for a drop in support; although once people realize that he is Provincial they should wake up... I wonder why I haven't seen a poll on Stupid Eddies levels in Alberta? Now that is a province where Tories are open to turning Liberal - just get a good leader!

  • Dan, I've long suspected you were the cause of the Liberal drought in Alberta. Since it's been going on since your infancy it's not something you've said, written or done, it's just your mere existance.

Please leave Ontario immediately for the good of the country. We can't afford you handing Harper another 60 seats. I beg you to consider PEI or Newfoundland and Labrador. Only 4 or 7 seats, and I really don't think even you could harm the Liberals as much on the rock as Harper's managed to harm the CPCs.

And say what you will about "Newfies," they're certainly smart enough to tell the difference between provincial and federal parties!

  • Anything Harper does will "enrage" Danny Williams.
Is Danny suking up to Dion? Layton? Duceppe?

Seems Doer (Manitoba), Wall (Sask), Stelmach (AB) and Campbell (BC) don't have any problems with the CPC.

Is it just me or does Williams seem pi$$ed off all the time?
