Rick Mercer did a rant a while ago about Canada merging with Cuba to form "Canuba". We'd surround the Americans and really piss them off in the process.

He does have the advantage of reaching out to a lot of people who are not in the Liberal fold. While getting on, he has a youthful spirit; he's passionate about social justice; and he believes in steering an independent course with respect to the US. Maybe he's the leader to do that NDP/Liberal merger that Cherniak's on about.
If he's on-side on softwood, he's my man. He's just the opposition that Harper needs. Well, maybe I need to put that a different way. :) With Fidel in the PMO, Harper will spend his last days in Miami. What this country needs is a good five-cent Cohiba. ¡Venceremos!
