Talking to Americans

This is a pretty funny clip. How many of these guys do you think work at the Pentagon?

Thanks to Little Red Satan for this one.

  • Its sad that Americans are that stupid.

  • I know this is the favourite pastime of non-Americans but I guarantee you I could go out and find a half-hour dozen Canucks, Brits, Aussies or Kiwis to say some braindead things.

    Still it was pretty funny!

  • Actually Greg, apparently a US network tried to do this in order to get "revenge" on Rick Mercer for "Talking to Americans" - they came to Canada an tried to do the same thing.

Nobody fell for it. They got no useful footage, whereas Rick Mercer has stated he has too much good footage and has to sift through it and that only rarely does he get called on it by an American.

This is both sad and scary b ecause its true.

I agree with Mark, more money for Geography rather than ID.

  • What show is this from?

Anyone else notice that he had actually labelled Australia and Tasmania as North and South Korea? What was the purpose of that?

Rick Mercer has stated he has too much good footage and has to sift through it and that only rarely does he get called on it by an American.

That's interesting, since I've heard Mercer admit that he had to go through a several Americans who didn't fall for it to find each "dumb enough" one.

This becomes even less impressive when you consider how heavily edited those segments are.

(Presumably he had better odds for stuff that American's couldn't be expected to know, like selling the Peter Mans Bridge.)

Oh, and AFAIK, intelligent design is only just starting to be introduced in some states. If you really believe that it has somehow retroactively corrupted the geography knowledge of middle-aged Americans... what does that say about your intelligence?
