The Race Is On
We recognize that Ignatieff supporters would likely prefer writing 100 page theses, rather than blog posts, on his chances, and that the McKenna crowd have their hands full running the PMO right now, but surely there's a young Brison or Bevilacqua fan out there willing to lead the charge for their man, isn't there?

I should have a nice 10-12-pager on Ignatieff for you by the end of the semester. ;)

Nice to see people taking an active view in leadership politics this far out.

Funny how none of the serious contenders have blogs yet...
By Jason Cherniak, at 8:08 p.m.
That is a low blow Mr. Cherniak. Have your hands full sending out Bevilacqua's ten-percenters?

volpe! volpe! volpe!
btw, jason, who are the serious candidates?
By daveberta, at 12:04 a.m.
Volpe for Leader? Dear God, I hope Martin doesn't die or resign before the next election... although I agree with Matt that Harper (or at least a couple thousand CPC members) would happily throw money at him for his leadership campaign.
It's not fair of you to toy with us like this.

Go Sheila!

Am I the only anglo who caught sight of Sheila Copps on the quebec version of "Dancing with the Stars"?
Geez, we sure love her here in Quebec.
Can you Liberals explain to me why you turfed her out like a leper from your party?
I don't understand why you are so hostile towards such a fun-loving, strong woman.
Her politics are not my cup of tea, but certainly, if she were in my party, I would have treated her with oodles more respect and civility than you Liberals did.

"I would have treated her with oodles more respect and civility than you Liberals did."
Then you would have been treating her with more respect and civility than Sheila ever treated anyone else with in her 35-year political career. I am not much of a Martin fan, but Sheila just got what was coming to her.

I believe that Copps is gone for one big reason:
1) She could not sign up as many members as Valeri, who wanted the riding and had just as much right as her.

QuebecHarpermaniac says:
But she can dance!
Meanwhile, Valeri is proving to be a cunning House leader (Martin's best cabinet pick, to be sure).

I'll get right on that Ignatieff essay as soon as I'm done all my other ones.
By Ryan Ringer, at 1:29 p.m.
Charlie, Volpe's not that cunning. Really. I once owned a brighter goldfish. However, that said, the fact that he runs rings around the CPC.....well, it's kinda sad.

QuebecHarpermaniac responds:
Don -
I don't doubt you had a goldfish brighter than Volpe. I'd bet that goldfish had more integrity than the entire Liberal cabinet.
And yes, we Tories are dumb as posts. But, at least we can tell the difference between two italian names that start with "V". (I know, Don, its tough, they all look the same...)

AHHH>....Sigh..........nailed by Charlie Fallon...........been a tough week already.

Jason; If Manley and Cauchon aren't "serious" contenders, who would you rate as "serious" contenders?

Wow jason has a parody blogger (fartcatcher) - I'd say he's really hit the big time.
