They may starve, but at least they'll be spared the unpleasantness of a summer election

June 16th - Denis Coderre in Question Period:

I would, however, like to ask a serious question.

The minister hesitated earlier. I am asking her to rise. Can she tell us why she cannot table her employment insurance plan immediately? People are going to starve this summer and they want to know what will be done about employment insurance. What is she waiting for?

June 17th - Liberal Press Release:

The working group [on EI reform] will deliver recommendations to the Prime Minister, the Leader of the Opposition and Canadians by September 28, 2009.

Quasi-hat tip - I had this one all lined up to post, when I noticed Radwanski has already pulled up the same Coderre quote.

  • I hope that Canadians are not stupid enough to trust the Liberals to be a party of principles...

  • Denis Coderre should stick to what he knows best . . . which hockey players should be suspended for saying nasty things about french people.

  • Denis Coderre's starvation threshold is clearly not the same as everybody else's

  • One might hypothesize that Denis Coderre starves more easily than Michael Ignatieff.

  • I really hope Canadians are not stupid enough to believe that either the Conservatives or Liberals are the party of principles.

Though I will give credit to the Liberals when Elections Canada is reviewing their election returns and has questions; the Liberals are willing to work with them. They also usually do not attempt to stand around stating they are the moral party in Canada unlike the Conservatives.

When the Conservatives are being reviewed by Elections Canada they refuse to do anything useful forcing a raid on their headquaters.

  • No Travis - when the CPC are being reviewed by EC, they sue and claim that EC is biased for the LPC.

  • Very true Gayle and they also vote against supporting the institution as a whole.
