They'll go Neg
There will be fiery speeches. There will be ads. There will be custom web sites. And the Liberal War Room will be issuing a flurry of messages to reporters covering the Conservative campaign. The tone will be dark. The predictions will be dire. And Liberals will be crossing their fingers that the narrative will work – just as it has in previous campaigns.
They need to run such a campaign because they have nothing substantive to offer.

We cannot allow the Liberals’ campaign of fear to succeed. We need to fight back with facts supported by top-rate advertising, direct mail and rapid response. And we need your help to help us make that happen.

I prefer serious policy presentations to this kind of stuff, but those feelings aside, it's been fascinating to watch the Liberals, once the Rove-type Republicans of Canada, transform into the inept Dukakis/Kerry brand, while the Conservatives leave the clueless-in-public Manning and Day days behind and adopt these emotional tactics. I feel like I need a shower after reading this excerpt.

Well that just makes sense, doesn't it? The tory war room has no idea what a fact looks like. Of course they need outsiders to help them find some.

I'm not sure which is funnier, the post (for its last link), or the reaction for missing it.

We laugh, but some not-so-small percentage of the people who read it will take it to heart. Then I will have to hear them repeat it in public. I will feel compelled to point out facts on record that conflict with their views. I will be called an argumentative, angry librul. I will go home and work on my Doomsday apparatus, and one day I will solve this once and for all. You may feel a strange tingle.
