Isn't it telling that his self-serving recollections of childhood are, in fact, lies? It can't be good to be called on that on the first page.

I don't understand why everyone disliked his joke. I thought it was hilarious (but then, I like that kind of absurdist humour).

It wasn't so much the joke that weirded me out as the "laughing almost uncontrollably" thing. But then, we haven't seen the film of the incident; "uncontrollable" to the author might look like "jolly" to me. Perception is so important.

However, the lying is downright weird. I have high hopes for Dion, but hopefully he doesn't run his campaign like this!
