Fuddle Duddle

Cross-Posted to Gerard's OC

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Poilievre,

I regret to inform you that your son has been repeatedly misbehaving this semester. Over the past few weeks, Pierre has developed the habit of using language unbecoming of a student, resorting to curse words and vile arm gestures when he doesn't get his way. While we understand that children will be children, Pierre's actions have gone above and beyond the normal high-jinx that one would expect from an eight year old boy eager for the summer vacation to arrive.

To make matters worse, Pierre has been a bad influence on the other students, encouraging his friend Jacques to join him in making his arm gestures. When attempts are made to punish him, he demonstrates a complete lack of respect for authority, doing a "pixie dance".

We have experience dealing with trouble makers at our school but if these problems persist, we may be force to expel your son. Please emphasize to him that it is important for Pierre to act his age while at our school - he is in second grade now, after all.

Sincerely,

Principle Milliken
Dean of Hill Elementary School

  • This is not a big deal, and no one would care if your Libs didn't make such a big deal out of it. Check out my site for a semi response to yours.

  • Isn't this kind of comment a little odd considering the name of you blog? Did Pierre Trudeau apologize? Or did he just obfuscate, oh, by claiming he had realy said "fuddle duddle"? The hypocrisy never ends . . .

  • P.S. Do you think any of little Pierre's friends would like to donate $5400 to a Liberal leadership campaign?

  • Hah, for one thing, you Tories acted like babies towards the Fuddle-duddle incident, and for another, that was mouthing a word.

This is not a big deal, but it does speak volumes about the juvenile character of your caucus. Not exactly a razor-sharp parliamentary barb, the 'arm-thrust.' What's in store for later, a parliamentary brawl?

  • Too much power too young. I agree Pierre needs to be back-benched for a bit...lest he turn into an arrogant Liberal! :)

Don't expect to see him in the front ranks come the fall.

  • Jason Townsend, we can only hope.

  • Let me tell ya, THAT kind of behaviour is not playing well in his riding where I live. We have a lot of families that do not take kindly to their MP being a bad on the kids....

I wonder how the local fish wrap will handle this?

  • LOL!!! Good one!

By Blogger Eric, at 3:46 p.m.

  • mike, just wondering how you know how the hand gesture is playing in your riding? I live in Nepean too and no one seems to even know it happened.

Did you do a phone survey? Questionnaire's at the grocery store.

I'm sure your not just grandstanding now are you :)

  • That's pretty much what I posted to Vincent Riccio's blog this morning. The parents must feel ashamed, because such conduct always reflects badly on the parents.

I can only say that I am disgusted with this behaviour.

    Rat,

Perhaps if your lot hadn't raised the morality limbo bar to such a ridiculously high height before and during the election campaign your hypocrisy charge would hold some water. The fact is the Conservatives played the morally superior card to such an extent that all subsequent Tory moral slithering should be duly noted and then hammered home.

By Blogger Omar, at 5:07 p.m.

  • Well done. Conservatives are like school in the summer, no class.

Ummm, Omar, have you thought through that metaphor? Seriously. Think about it. Limbo. Bar. Raised. Not the brightest thing you've ever written.

By Blogger The Rat, at 6:26 p.m.

  • Well, I won't say all of them are immature, but Pierre certainly is.

  • Professor Rat,
Regardless of my metaphor being incorrect, the point being made was that your gang of sloths trumpeted being the moral choice for Canadians andauseam. Each day that passes they prove that indeed they are not. Trudeau was 20+ years ago, the election was 6 months ago. You might want to check the best before date on your hypocrisy claims. Either that or come up with ones that maybe somebody under the age of 30 will recall.

I'm not sure what sloths have to do with trumpets, or really how being a sloth relates to being moral or amoral. Could you be a little clearer? I mean, when I say Liberals are hypocrits it's pretty clear what I mean.

Trudeau was 20+ years ago, the election was 6 months ago. You might want to check the best before date on your hypocrisy claims. Either that or come up with ones that maybe somebody under the age of 30 will recall.

Well, consistency would demand that Liberals be equally concerned with Trudeau's "fuddle duddle", or maybe his salute to the West. But you're not. History isn't something to be lost on the young, it's something to be taught. Consider that a lesson.
