With the fall TV season now underway, I thought I'd take some time to preview some exciting new shows this fall:
Lost: A plan with all 307 members of parliament crashes over the Pacific Ocean...and no one looks for them.
Desperate House: A Party in power resorts to every possible tactic to hold on to power: canceling opposition days, Cabinet posts for defectors, ignoring non-confidence votes, and pleading for time on National TV.
Everybody Loves Michaelle: See what wacky hijinx will happen at Rideau Hall this week when a former FLQ member comes for dinner!
Law & Order: Sponsorship - Jean Brault and Chuck Guite stand trial (this show has been postponed until the spring).
Alias: Starring Gurmant Grewal.
The Apprentice: Every week, 10 Liberal and Tory leadership hopefuls compete at a series of challenges such as taking over riding associations and stacking nomination meetings, for the right to replace their lame duck party leaders.
Seinfeld: Paul Martin's vision of Canada is explained in this show about nothing.
Everybody Hates Steve: A look inside the Globe & Mail newsroom.

Queer as Folk: This week, Myron Thompson wakes up from a bad bender next to Svend Robinson. Guest appearance by Elsie Wayne. (22 Minutes fans experience collective deja vu.)
Canadian Idol: Singing Tories provide us with anthems, including "Na Na Hey Hey", and Brian Pallister sings his rendition of "Another Brick in the Wall", which was prohibited by the Speaker.
So You Think You Can Dance?: Belinda Stronach and Tim Murphy do the Dance of Betrayal.
Futurama: A show about Canada 1000 years in the future. Canadians still bitch about Americans (despite the fact that America wiped itself out centuries ago), Quebec is on the verge of breaking away in the 248th referendum on separation - and they really, really mean it this time! - and the Liberals have ruled successively since 1993.

Over on QuebecHarperManiac TV, we offer:
Coronation Street - A show about how Paul Martin pushed everyone out of the Liberal party just so he could take over.
The Wiggles - this acclaimed kids show from Australia is about slimy politicians who manage to elude responsibility for the waste and corruption they create.
The Office - you don't need to know any of the cast members to be appointed to the senate... (until November sweeps).
Desperate Housewives - housewives of citizens who receive letters from the PM proclaiming how hot they are try to get over the fact that the creepiest PM in history has his "eye" on them.
Trading Spaces - about Tories who become insta-cabinet ministers for switching parties. Meanwhile, loyal backbench Grits are kept in the shadows because they are too ugly for prime-time.
