Red wave

I'm about ready to call it. Liberals win calgary elbow. Up 2791 to 2135 with a third of the polls to go.

With all but 3 polls reporting, Cheffins has 45% to Heninger's 38%. A great night to be a Liberal in Alberta!

  • The conservatives have lost in Alberta, yeah baby. That does not bode well for Harper and friends.

  • Don't get too excited, Dirk, the provincial PCs and the federal CPCs are only kissing cousins, of the air-kissing kind.

  • Actually Dirk, it bodes WELL for Harper and friends.

Why? Because the federal Liberals made the same mistake as the Alberta Tories: They chose a 3rd-choice, regional, play-it-safe compromise candidate that no one really likes, but no one really hates. History has proven you're better off with a candidate that some people love and some people hate.
