Blind Partisans of the World Unite...
Magnanimous in the Great White North has compiled a list of Conservative bloggers who have...well...I'll let him explain:
The issue of David Emerson's appointment to Stephen Harper's cabinet has most conservative bloggers furious. A doughty band of brother and sister bloggers have staked out the hill opposite, and on it they've hosted the flag that reads: "Hey, this makes sense!"
A small band, to be sure, but stout of heart. And not a single one a stooge of the Conservative Party, but each of us, based on the facts of the case, convinced that this was a good move, and possibly a brilliant move.
I've got to admit that the "brilliance" of this move is lost on me. But, then again, I never understood the "brilliance" behind calling the Gomery Inquiry, so I'm not always that quick on these things. On the bright side, this list will make the nominations for Wells' SDA awards easier to compile.
What would be extremely fascinating would be to see how many in the Myron Thompson school of thought ("I don't understand it, but I'll trust Stephen") have made comments over the past year disparaging certain Liberal bloggers as being "stooges of the Liberal Party".
Ahh...the joys of opposition...
(It should be noted that most of the fair and balanced. I'm actually surprised.)

I don't know where you heard the description "brilliant" but I saw it hear: http://www.cbc.ca/news/viewpoint/vp_zolf/20060207.html
I would not describe Mr. Zolf as conservative. Instead he's just an old dog whose been an observer on the Canadian political scene for eons. He's seen and heard it all. I often don't agree with him but I yield to his wisdom and experience.
You can draw your own conclusions on Larry's very clear endorsement of Harper's cabinet decisions. I would add that, in an indirect way, he's calling out the current crop of kvetchers as a bunch of neophytes.
The name of the game was, is, and always will be "politics". Pretending that it isn't is only getting those few, who are working themselves into a tizzy, a lot of wasted mileage on a road to nowhere.
Harper knows it. Dalton (I won't raise your taxes until I do)McGuinty knows it. So do most other successful politicians including a bunch of senior liberals who are probably quietly admiring it.

Wow, I have never seen such a train wreck so early.
Four big differences between Harper and McGuinty
McGuinty didn’t mess up this badly on his VERY FIRST DAY!
McGuinty did not ride a high horse and campaign almost entirely on accountability and ethics and break that pledge before even taking the oath of office.
McGuinty has a MAJORITY and has 5 years to ride out any mistakes or bad news. This government will be very lucky if it lasts a year.
McGuinty could blame his mistakes on the last government.
Conservative spinning is starting to make me dizzy.

The Liberal Party should be grateful to the Conservatives. It takes away the attention of a Liberal Party with a lousy interm leader with corrupt morals and no one else with the experience or even french skills to be a leader of the Liberal Party.
But don't worry, people will get back on that topic soon!!

I hope by writing "You have nothing to lose but your credibility" you're not implying that Steve Janke, a.k.a. Angry in the Great White North, had any credibility to begin with.

I don't see why Harper should have to look a gift horse in the mouth, (You want to join us, David? How can I say no?) but the timing of this was just horrible. Even at just a tactical level, I thought Harper would be smarter than that. That's even beyond the issue of passing over a star like James Moore for this turncoat.
Whelp, now we see what comes next.

I do love seeing you write in opposition.
Adds a little bite, a little spark, a little je ne sais quoi, doesn't it.

I just want thank Steve Janke for giving us one convenient place to find all the "whores".
I wonder how much Kate charges for a ... err nevermind.

Well, here's one blogging tory who supports the appointments of Fortier and Emerson.

The fraud here is the entire Liberal Party and it's 'vote strategic' BS, along with it's long acknowledged tradition of running from the left and governing from the right.
By exposing the fundamentally silly nature of this cosmetic fraud, that consists of pretending to make a large issue of the small distinction between Red and Blue paint jobs, Emerson has earned the enmity and ire of all who play the Red/Blue deception game. Emerson is being punished and abused not for telling little white lies during the campaign, for for telling the basic truth after the election.
The Red partisans in particular cannot stand having their trade secrets exposed to the voters, especially since they are now broke and out of power. They have to, pardon the expression, fight like blue blazes to place all the of the blame for insincerity on Emerson's personal shoulders, lest it spread out and cover the entire Liberal Party. They know better than anyone that all Emerson did was repeat the national Liberal vote strategic scam line in his riding. Now that he has dropped that and admitted that it doesn't matter to him which pro-business party he's in, well, that's a big problem for all the Red partisans, so they have to go after him big time.
Maybe the Liberals should send Belinda Stronach, Scott Brison, and Keith Martin into the riding to do some heavy organizing, eh?
