Au Revoir

The Parti Quebecois have basically been handed the next provincial election if they want it. But much like the BC NDP, all indications are their answer is "thanks, but no thanks".

The latest problem for them is the defection of three high profile MNAs. And why are they defecting you ask? Over contentious issues surrounding sovereignty, reasonable accommodation, or Quebec's massive deficit?

Nope.

Over a private members bill about a hockey arena:

3 PQ members leave party
Beaudoin, Curzi, Lapointe will sit as independant MNAs

Three influential Parti Québécois members of the national assembly are leaving Quebec's sovereigntist party, largely because of a controversial bill to protect the provincial capital and its management deal on the city's new hockey arena.

Louise Beaudoin, the member for Montreal's Rosemont riding, Pierre Curzi, who represents Borduas, and Lisette Lapointe, the member for Crémazie and the wife of former PQ leader Jacques Parizeau, announced Monday morning that they will sit as independents committed to sovereignty.

Their decision was triggered by a private member's bill sponsored by PQ member Agnès Maltais to protect the City of Quebec after the multimillion-dollar deal it made with media giant Quebecor to operate the future arena.

  • If Quebec wants to separate, they had better do it fast.

Wikileaks has said, the N.A,U. is on the way. This has been Harper's evil agenda all along. The U.S. were just waiting for Harper's majority. They will start implementing the N.A.U. in small increments at first.

The American citizens, are dead set against the N.A.U. They despise Harper. They say, Harper's election win was rigged. They said, there is a petition, out with Presscore, to prosecute Harper and Peter MacKay for war crimes and crimes against humanity. I did find the petition. They also say, Harper should be tried for treason. They just don't like Harper, one iota.

So i guess, the American people do not want the merge of, Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. They fear they will be totally overrun by Mexicans. The same could happen to Canada. We will be known as, Mexcanericans, our currency will be the Amero dollar. Canada will be the largest state, in the U.S.A.

  • That may be an "Au revoir", but I wouldn't rule out it's Marois whose leadership is now on the line.

The touchstone of the PQ's action over the last two years has been corruption. Constantly, relentlessly hammering on the PLQ's incestuous links with construction, big engineering firms, the endemic problems of cronyism in municipalities, again around public works...

And they've been quite succesful at it. Now, it is they who propose a bill who will suspend most of the anti-collusion laws that were put forward over the last two years so mayor Labeaume can hand the keys of a publicly funded 400 millions arena to Quebecor without the possibility of citizen calling the legality of the deal.

This thing reeks to high heavens. I'm surprised it's only 3 of them.

But don't be fooled: this is a very serious issue and a major, major misstep. And Charest's troops aren't happy about the whole thing either.

  • @anon: "Americans despise Harper." Lol. Americans probably still think Chretien is PM. I hardly think enough Americans follow our politics to develop an impression of our PM. Certainly not enough to make such a sweeping statement.

Amero conspiracy theories are soooo mid-2000s. Don't you have more current conspiracy theories to rail against?

Wise choice, submitting comments under "anon."
